ADVANCED SKILLS & MENTORING PROGRAM
WHAT IS IT?
The Austin Soundwaves Advanced Skills & Mentoring Program is intended to give student musicians in Austin valuable individual instruction, as well as to develop musicianship and build skills to help ensure success in graduation and beyond. In addition to private lessons and group studio classes, students receive assistance to prepare and apply for summer camps, advanced music programs, and college. Participants will also be involved in our Ambassador Ensemble, and act as mentors throughout their school music program, and community.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Students with at least two years of experience in a school music program. Applying students should be motivated to learn and willing to adhere to a set schedule of lessons, concerts, and mentoring sessions. Students must be recommended by their school music teacher and complete a written application. The program is primarily intended for high school students, but students in middle school may still apply.
